Earning and Learning, the Hot Ticket to Higher Wages. Manpower Introduces MyPath Program which Includes No Cost College Degree Courses from Western International University for Associates with Ambitions to Move On and Move Up |
- Manpower brings world of work expertise to education in response to employer demand for skills AND experience - Manpower’s new MyPath program includes a Full College Tuition Coverage Program, the latest in its suite of tools offering associates the opportunity to learn while they earn - The program has been designed to help people achieve educational qualifications, move up the career ladder and earn more – without clocking up thousands of dollars of student debt MILWAUKEE (May 16, 2016) – Manpower today announced the launch of MyPath, which includes its Full College Tuition Coverage Program offering eligible U.S. associates the opportunity to pursue a college education* through Western International University, along with valuable career coaching. MyPath provides associates with assessment, guidance, development and education alongside career opportunities with Manpower in the U.S. Every year in North America, Manpower works with 30,000 businesses and places 475,000 associates into work. ManpowerGroup’s annual Talent Shortage Survey asks employers in 42 countries which roles they are struggling to fill and where the skills gaps are. As a result, Manpower knows what employers want, which skills are needed to move on, move up and earn more. In the past two years, more than 120,000 Manpower associates have increased their wages. Their Full College Tuition Coverage Program will make it possible for many more to do just that by developing relevant skills and building experience at the same time. People are working longer, and Millennials especially are preparing to run “career ultramarathons,” so learnability – the desire and ability to quickly grow and adapt skill sets – is critical. Partnering with Western International University (West), a subsidiary of the Apollo Education Group, Manpower has developed a tuition assistance program that encourages their associates to upskill by achieving college degrees while they work, improving learnability and employability. As these individuals add additional skills, businesses will have access to a wider pool of quality talent. Kip Wright, Senior Vice President of Manpower in North America, said: “The way we work and the work we do is changing. We are seeing skills needs adjust at the flip of a switch, and traditional college courses can be out-of-step with business needs. It’s no wonder people are asking: ‘Is the traditional approach to college worth it? Does it make you employable for the long term?’ Yet when 93% of Millennials around the world are telling us they want to keep developing their skills and they’re willing to spend their own time and money doing it, the time is ripe for new thinking and disruption. As the leading workforce solutions company we’re excited to be launching this program and providing practical solutions. When businesses want it all – experience and qualifications, we can help make that possible. Earning and learning don’t have to be mutually exclusive.” Tracy Lorenz, President of Western International University (West), said: “This exciting partnership combines Manpower’s world of work expertise with West’s rich history of higher education innovation. Together we’re creating a program that has the potential to materially and positively impact the lives of Manpower Associates. By eliminating cost as a barrier to a degree and combined with specialized coaching, we’re helping people develop in-demand, career-relevant skills at a pace that works with their busy lives.” To learn more about MyPath and the Full College Tuition Coverage Program, visit http://manpowergroup.us/mypath.
